Part 1 : How to work in SG

Basically, here are the uber-simplified steps that you need to accomplish.

  1. Get to SG.
  2. Have your passport stamped with visit pass.
  3. Have your money changed to SGD.
  4. Get a Singapore SIM card.
  5. Get interviews and get offers.
  6. Sign a contract.
  7. Get your IPA.
  8. Do the biometrics for worker's pass.
  9. Get your pass id.
  10. Apply for OWWA (and OEC)
  11. Work, work, work!
  12. Spend, spend, spend!

*okay, you can always replace the last step as “Save, save, save” but that would be quite a boring existence.

If all goes well, that should be it. However, it isn't always as smooth sailing. To help you out, let's give you a little more detailed description of the steps.. in my next posts! Lol.

note: the draft of this post was getting awfully long that i had to break it down into several posts. please bear with me. Use this Part 1, as the guide to the rest of the steps.

It is way easier to get an OEC now, more than ever. No need for the hassle of queuing, printing or even paying for it!  Now, all you need is your phone (or a laptop) and the internet.  Ah finally, I think the Philippines is catching up with the rest of the world.
