Pacific Rim = Massive Excitement

Whoa! This movie is just epic. 
Everything here is huge (including the number of minutes the movie runs).
 
imageIt's just awesome to watch these kinds of movies (every now and then), where you feel how small you are.  It gives you a taste of how huge the world around you can become and an idea of the scale of mass destruction.
 
The movie at its core doesn't really offer much story-wise, even the personalities are stereotypical but who cares! Fan boys are going to watch this because of its Gundam vs Godzilla qualities. They are definitely going to get a lot of that, all in stunning CGI glory. Not to worry though, as there’s a sprinkling of humour here and there for some breathing time.

It is definitely a must watch for anyone who loves the mentioned epic battle scenes, those who wants to see grandiose effects and even those who like video games Surprised smile. What a surprise. Lol.

<spoiler alert>minor spoilers. skip this part if you don’t want those.  
best scenes: In one of the flashback-like sequences (part of a ‘drift’), a young girl (future pilot) is being chased by a Kaiju on the streets of Japan.
Also, when a Jaeger slashes a Kaiju with a sword while up in the sky.

tip: There’s not much to see in 3D (only the first few minutes), so you can stick with the 2D version, or soak it all in with iMax.

Lastly, i just can’t help but mention how much this movie is reminds me of ‘Evangelion’.
